If you follow us on Instagram, you already know August is a special month for the studio.
Exactly two years ago the studio opened, and we're excited about our second-birthday celebrations โ more details soon ๐
This year we wanted the celebration to add real value, and the first thing we thought of was protecting the environment.
We instructors wear sportswear every day โ you could call it our "uniform".
We realised that lately โ especially in summer, when we sweat and constantly need a change of clothes โ we consume a lot of sportswear. But what does that actually mean?
The textile industry, which we're part of, is one of the most polluting industries on the planet. Until the start of the 21st century, people mostly bought clothes when they needed them, took care of them and repaired them. With the rise of fast fashion, clothes are thrown away after being worn only a few times, and a large share of unsold clothes is destroyed by burning or landfill.
Polyester is the most popular fabric in fashion (and in sportswear in particular). It pollutes the water by shedding fibres that reach the oceans through wastewater and make their way up the food chain into the fish we eat.
So how can we do our part for the environment?
1. Instead of constantly buying new clothes โ reuse the clothes we already have.
2. If we do buy, choose brands that care for the environment and use recycled materials.
At the studio we want to make caring for the environment easier for you, as a value we believe in โ and happily, we found a gorgeous sportswear brand made from recycled materials!
Meet Yoga Searcher, a French yoga and lifestyle fashion brand made from natural and recycled fabrics. It respects human rights, and all its clothes are designed to flatter women's bodies in every shape.
And now you can enjoy a discount on Yoga Searcher products too โ go to their website, enter the coupon code Movement and get 10% off every purchase.
At the studio's second-birthday celebrations in September, you'll be able to see Yoga Searcher's very best pieces at the studio, in a special sale just for our clients ๐ค

Family movement
The summer holidays bring plenty of challenges โ routine, screen time and the endless search for something to do โ but also a great opportunity: family quality time that doesn't have to mean screens or another trip to an air-conditioned mall with junk food.
