If you've had a peek at our schedule lately, you've probably noticed weekly strength classes that have taken their place alongside our beloved Pilates and yoga. I've been getting lots of smiles and curiosity from you at the studio, so I thought this was a great opportunity to pause, share my behind-the-scenes thinking, and tell you why I'm so excited about this addition.
The idea is simple: our body is a wonderful machine, and for it to feel as vital, healthy and whole as possible, it simply needs a bit of everything.

Like good nutrition: our body needs a varied menu
Think of your movement routine as a good, nourishing meal. We have Pilates, which brings lots of precision, amazing control and posture, and yoga, which gives us breath, phenomenal flexibility and inner quiet. That's an amazing base – but to make the meal truly complete and balanced, we felt one more small but super important ingredient was missing: resistance and strength training.
You've probably heard a lot lately about strength training, bone density and muscle mass… and it's true – the science is absolutely there. When we challenge the body with weights and resistance work, we keep our skeleton resilient, strengthen our joints and give the body protection and strength for years to come.

So how does it all fit together without giving anything up?
The real beauty happens when we stop choosing fitness "camps" and understand that all these workouts are actually best friends. They don't compete with each other – they feed each other:
The flexibility you gain in yoga and the control you learn in Pilates are exactly what will let you lift a weight in a strength class in the most precise, safe and fluid way possible.
And on the other hand, the resilience and physical strength you build in strength classes? They'll let you choose more challenging variations and exercises on the mat and the different apparatus.
It's simply a magic circle of healthy movement.

How do you start? Slowly, and with fun
My bottom line is that we're not replacing anything – we're simply expanding our toolkit to do you good. If you've already found your perfect routine: that's wonderful. But if you'd like to give your body a bit more resilience and energy, I really recommend adding at least one strength class a week alongside your regular Pilates and yoga classes.
The new classes are taught exactly the way we love: in the warmest, most embracing and safest atmosphere, in small groups and at your own pace. They're waiting for you in the app, and I can't wait to hear how you feel afterwards.

Family movement
The summer holidays bring plenty of challenges – routine, screen time and the endless search for something to do – but also a great opportunity: family quality time that doesn't have to mean screens or another trip to an air-conditioned mall with junk food.
