Few people at the studio have heard the story of how I came to the world of Pilates – and why I fell in love with it.
For that, I need to take you back in time with me to my military service.
In the army I served in Yahalom – a special unit of the Combat Engineering Corps – as the unit's physical training instructor. My job was not only to train the soldiers but to stay with them all the way and help the injured do their physiotherapy exercises.
As part of that, I had to be as fit as the soldiers, and I trained non-stop – which very quickly led to injuries, and one major injury: a torn hamstring (the back of the thigh) – the muscle we really feel in bridge exercises.

Throughout my service I ignored the injury and the pain, but during my dance degree I couldn't ignore it any more.
The tear significantly shortened my range of motion in the leg – and for a dancer, not being able to do the splits is a problem…
For two years I went to physiotherapy every week, and each time after treatment I felt the difference.
The problem was that, like everyone, I didn't do the exercises at home – and as soon as I missed one session, everything went backwards.

After two years of frustration and the feeling that no matter what, nothing helped, I spoke to my physiotherapist, who said:
Either surgery or Pilates.
That's how I started doing Pilates – a young student who just wanted to ease the pain in her thigh.
I fell in love very quickly.
I fell in love with the method, the apparatus, the work on flexibility;
suddenly I was looking forward to workouts (that weren't dance).
Very soon my instructor sent me on a Pilates instructor course myself, so I could join the field as a teacher.
Needless to say, I'm so happy about that decision.
Thanks to that injury, I found this amazing world.
Thanks to the instructor course, every day I get to meet amazing people and see their personal progress –
whether it's an injury that's slowly improving, or easing the back pain we all feel from a sedentary life.
What makes me happiest is seeing people who never liked exercise, and never did sport, fall in love with Pilates just like I did.

I invite you to join me and experience what made me fall in love with Pilates ❤️

Family movement
The summer holidays bring plenty of challenges – routine, screen time and the endless search for something to do – but also a great opportunity: family quality time that doesn't have to mean screens or another trip to an air-conditioned mall with junk food.
